General

What products does iDent sell ?

iDent sells products for the accurate planning and placement of dental implants:

a) ImplantMaster, a software application that utilizes CT data to plan implant surgery.
b) Scan2Guide (S2G), a light version of ImplantMaster that is only available through iDent partners.
c) iGuides,  Surgical guides to ensure accurate implant placement based on the pre-surgical plan executed on ImplantMaster or Scan2Guide software.

How does the iDent process work?

1. Radiographic template produced for patient by dentist/laboratory.
2. CT scanning of patient and template.
3. CT scan diagnosis and implant planning utilizing ImplantMaster and Scan2Guide software.
4. ImplantMaster software designs surgical iGuide which is e-mailed to a licensed iDent manufacturing location.
5. iGuide manufactured by rapid manufacturing and returned to dentist .The process is automated without possibility of human error.
6. Easy placement of implant using iGuide

Is ImplantMaster FDA approved?

Yes.

Materials & Sleeves

What materials are used to manufacture iGuides?

iGuides are manufactured from medically approved acrylic resin. Drill sleeves are medical grade titanium tubes.

How tall are the guide sleeves?

5mm. The end of the sleeve contacts the soft tissues.

Why is surgery easier using iDent?

The correct angulation is built into the guide and the exact length is known from the top of the sleeve to the apex of the implant. Many surgeries can be done flapless.

What is the turnaround time for iGuide delivery from time of order?

Normal service is 5 work days. Expedited service is available in some areas in 48 hours. iDent Partners may offer shorter delivery times – please contact an iDent Partner.

What diameter drills can be used with iGuide sleeves?

Most regular implant diameter drills from major companies can be used. Any custom sized (non-standard) drill diameter is available by special order. Delivery times for customized drill diameters should be verified in advance with an iDent representative or partner.

Clinical

Is flapless surgery possible?

Yes, in most cases-less pain and swelling for patients, and faster implant placement.

Do we suggest soft tissue punching prior to flapless surgery?

Yes, although no research is available showing transgingival surgery to be detrimental. Punching can be done through the guide.

Are the iGuides sterilizable?

Yes, by cold sterilization for 24 hours. Ethylene oxide sterilization is possible. iGuides are delivered non-sterile. Sleeves are autoclavable.

CT Scanning

Where can the patient get a CT scan done?

At dental scanning centers or at most modern CT scanning facility (radiology center or hospital) with a multislice scanner. iDent will verify that the scanner you wish to use is compatible with ImplantMaster software and supply the scanning site with the CT protocols required to be used during the scan. The iDent system is compatible with most cone beam CT imaging systems.

Is ImplantMaster compatible with in-office dental CT scanners?

At present, ImplantMaster can be used with the following dental cone-beam CT scanners: Newtom 3G, iCat; Hitachi Mercuray. iDent will approve its system for use with new systems as they are launched.

How do I get the CT scan back from the scanning site?

The scanning site will record the DICOM images from the scan onto a CD . Images can also be uploaded to the FTP sites of iDent or its partners using HIPAA compliant protocols . ImplantMaster uses standard DICOM format, and the data does not need pre-processing of any kind.

What are the minimum and recommended hardware/software system requirements?

· Intel P4 1.6 GHz (recommended: 2.8 GHz)
· 512 MB RAM
· 1GB free hard disk space
· Graphics Card - Geforce 440MX 64 MB or better
· OS Windows 2000 SP4 (recommended: Windows XP SP2)
· Internet connection – (High speed connection recommended)
· E-mail applcation (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc) - reccommended

Is a radiographic template required for the iDent process?

Yes, this must be prepared by you or your technician according to iDent protocols.

Note: No radiographic opaque teeth or substance is required to outline the teeth. iDent protocols for scanning will highlight these structures digitally.

Can my own laboratory make the radiographic template?

Yes, simply, according to the iDent protocols supplied to you. Your laboratory can indicate on the template where the ideal position of the restored teeth should be from a functional and aesthetic point of view. This information can be related to in the planning.

Do I need to send models to iDent?

No, only the digital result of the planning.

Does iDent help with immediate loading?

Yes - your laboratory can use the iGuide to prepare a restoration for immediate loading. In addition, after the surgery the iGuide can be used as an accurate impression tray for the pick-up impression.

What are the benefits of ImplantMaster/iGuides?

a) ImplantMaster and Scan2Guide use native DICOM images directly from most CT scanners - no pre-processing is required.
b) ImplantMaster and Scan2Guide allows for the link between virtual surgery and reality to be achieved accurately, reliably, predictably and rapidly. Once the surgical guide has been created by ImplantMaster, only the guide data needs to be sent to the iDent or its partners. The manufacturing process is automatic and not subject to manual intervention.
c) Ordering of the iGuide is achieved by sending a digital file on the internet.
d) iGuides are assured to fit both edentulous or partially edentulous cases.
e) The dentist can inspect the digital image of iGuide prior to ordering.
